Experience Details
French cafes and international wine bars converge with cobbled streets, shrines, and geishas in Tokyo's eclectic Kagurazaka area in Shinjuku. A former geisha district, Kagurazaka maintains its mystique with traditional shops, narrow alleyways, and small shrines, while its modern European flair has earned it the nickname of Tokyo's little Paris. Join this fun walking tour of Kagurazaka and explore its alleyways and shops with a food connoisseur. For lunch, enjoy a hearty bowl of ramen or a traditional Japanese meal at a delicious restaurant handpicked especially for you by your guide. Finally, wrap up the experience with some coffee or matcha tea at a nostalgic coffee shop. Experience flow: -Meet your host, Murayama-san, at the Starbucks Coffee shop in Kagurazaka-shita. -Stroll the streets of the Kagurazaka and learn about the area from your guide. -Enjoy lunch at a restaurant picked for you (please place your booking from the options tab and let your guide know of any additional requests upon booking). -Sip matcha tea with traditional wagashi sweets or relax with some coffee and cake at a nostalgic cafe. For Murayama-san, your guide, food is serious business. Having run a curry restaurant, a bakery, and several cafes in central Tokyo, he is well acquainted with the ever-changing gastronomic landscape of the city. He also enjoys discussing Japanese food and giving recommendations, so feel free to ask him any food-related questions and elevate your food experience in Japan!
