Experience Details
Sake is one of Japan’s signature alcoholic beverages for its unique flavor. Each region of Japan has its own specialty sake, each having a different taste and texture. Sake is made by fermenting rice through a complex production process. While sake is internationally known for being a stand-alone drink, it is closely tied to Japanese food and religion. Through this experience, you will be introduced to Japanese sake's history, culture, and cultivation. An expert sommelier will explain a little about the history of sake, how sake is made, and the different sake varieties available. In this session, you will also taste different types of sake from a specially chosen collection, trying many varieties of sake available, from sparkling sake to sweet sake and sakes for dessert pairings. You can choose a course that includes five or seven different types of sake. The sake will also be served with a multi-course meal of complementary Japanese and Western dishes.
